Happy Tails - Janeen B

In October 2025, Friendship Subaru of Beckley proudly partnered with the Humane Society of Raleigh County for the Subaru Loves Pets initiative. This collaboration aimed to make a significant impact on the lives of animals in need. With help form us and the ASPCA a generous donation of $4,000, the Humane Society was able to provide essential veterinary care, prepare animals for adoption, and cover various needs. During this event, 29 animals15 dogs and 14 catsfound themselves in the spotlight, with a special focus on the "underdogs"our senior pets and those with special needs, we had 3 of those adopted this time around! One such underdog was Cuban, a sweet and gentle soul who had spent over five long years in the care of the Humane Society. Five long years - five years of watching new tails come in and happy tails wag their way out as another found their second chance. Still Cuban and the staff never lost hope: Cuban remained patient and hopeful and was always such a good boy, then it finally happened. Thanks to the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, Cuban's luck changed, and he finally found his forever home. Melody Davis, our partner and the administrative assistant and Outreach Coordinator at the Humane Society, shared, "Together, we are turning second chances into forever homes. We are deeply grateful for this partnership with Friendship Subaru of Beckley." Without your help this wouldn't be possible and we are so grateful! This impact report highlights the profound difference that community support and collaboration can make. And for Cuban, his story is a beautiful testament to the power of love and perseverance.

Little Gifts, Big Smiles - Janeen B

This holiday season, Friendship Subaru of Beckley proudly partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves' annual Toys for Tots campaign, joining forces to bring joy and hope to underprivileged children throughout southern West Virginia. Together, we celebrated the true spirit of giving back one toy, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time. For decades, Toys for Tots has been a beacon of generosity and compassion. Since its founding in 1947, the program has delivered over 780 million toys to children across America. Managed each year by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, the organization's mission is simple yet profound: to deliver hope to children at Christmastime and beyond. Families in need can apply for gifts through their local Marine Corps Toys for Tots chapter, ensuring that every donation finds its way into the hands of children who need it most. Here at Friendship Subaru of Beckley, our customers and staff went above and beyond to support this year's drive. The dealership's showroom quickly transformed into a cheerful mountain of generosity filled with backpacks brimming with toys, boxes of games and dolls, and gifts for boys and girls of all ages. One customer even brought in a few bicycles, making the pile of presents even more exciting! When it came time to deliver the toys, the Friendship Subaru team loaded everything up and took it to our official Toys for Tots drop-off location, knowing that each toy represented a smile waiting to happen. The Marines, always prepared for anything, also maintain a reserve of presents to respond to emergencies like fires, floods, or family crises providing comfort and hope when families need it most. Through community partnerships, corporate sponsorships, and the tireless work of volunteers, the Toys for Tots program ensures that no child is forgotten during the holidays. Friendship Subaru of Beckley is deeply honored to assist our local Marine Corps Reserves in this mission and we're proud to report that this year's collection was one of our largest yet, spreading countless smiles across our region. From all of us at Friendship Subaru of Beckley and Toys for Tots: thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this season brighter for children and families in need. Your generosity truly makes a difference. If you or your business would like to become a Toys for Tots drop-off site, simply contact your local U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots chapter they'll be happy to help you join this incredible effort. Because at the end of the day, it's not just about toys it's about hope, community, and the joy of giving back.

Seniors Sleigh the Holidays - Janeen B

There is something timeless about friendship, especially the kind that warms a winter day and brings people together in the spirit of giving. This Christmas, Friendship Subaru of Beckley joined the Raleigh County Commission on Aging RCCA and our senior friends for their annual Christmas celebration. The event was filled with laughter, music, and the sweet scent of homemade baked goods. A Celebration of Community and Care Friendship Subaru was honored to be invited to the Christmas party, where staff brought giveaways, joined in the festivities, and spent time enjoying dessert and conversation with the many seniors who make Raleigh County such a special place. The event reflected the heart of Subarus Love Promise, a commitment to serve and uplift local communities through real personal connection. Supporting Seniors All Year Long The Raleigh County Commission on Aging and our senior friends both play vital roles in enriching the lives of local seniors. The Commission provides programs and services that keep older adults active and connected, including daily and weekly activities, adult day services, computer assistance, and fitness programs that help promote healthy living and independence. Through the Meals on Wheels program, the Commission ensures that nutritious meals are delivered across the county every day. They carefully track each clients food preferences, where to leave each meal, and even carry treats for the many pets they meet along their routes. It is a thoughtful system that provides not only nourishment but also comfort and consistency for those who may live alone. Our senior friends add another layer of care and compassion to the community. Their volunteers and members are often on the front lines, delivering meals to local churches for holidays, especially around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Their commitment ensures that no one is forgotten, with turkey dinners and all the traditional fixings finding their way to those who might otherwise go without. The Gift of Time and Togetherness Amid the laughter, music, and desserts, the celebration served as a meaningful reminder that time is precious and that the moments we share in kindness matter deeply. Many seniors find a second family within the Commission and our senior friends programs. As families grow older and children move away, these community connections become a vital source of love, support, and belonging. For Friendship Subaru, this partnership represents more than just a seasonal event. Many of the seniors who take part in these programs are also valued Subaru customers. Meeting them face to face, rather than through digital screens or phone calls, brings a refreshing personal touch that reflects the dealerships deep commitment to community relationships. A Shared Commitment to Love and Service As the evening came to a close and the last slices of pie were enjoyed, one thing was clear Friendship Subaru, the Raleigh County Commission on Aging, and our senior friends all share the same mission. They believe in caring for people, strengthening community ties, and making a difference in everyday lives. Whether through a warm meal, a friendly conversation, or a joyful Christmas party, these groups remind us that community is not just about where we live but about how we care for one another. Because when you give your time and your heart, you do not just serve your community, you become part of it.

Together We Serve - Janeen B

We're thrilled to share that our wonderful partners at The Mountaineer Food Bank had put out an urgent request with Raleigh Counties Councilman at Large for additional volunteers needed immediately! As being in her Go-To list we at Friendship Subaru came and brought many with us. Due to the amazing increase in donations, we were expecting two additional semi-trailers filled with all the essentials - turkey's, hams, bags of potatoes, bread, deserts and more! This was all in addition to the regular donations of non-perishable food, frozen meat and the 20lb bags of dog and cat food. We seemed to be all set to make a HUGE impact. We are proud to support Raleigh County and surrounding areas, and thankfully, the weather was on our side with a beautiful break this late in November. The sunny skies made the day even more enjoyable and productive. We ended up having so many volunteers, including many from Friendship Subaru, helping out with stations set ups, umbrellas/small canopies, distribution sections for each lane, car line up order and the whole process in which it takes to make this run smoothly. We had over 500 recipients in cars to serve, efficiently and quickly. The camaraderie and joyful banter made this day truly special, and it was heartwarming to see volunteers hugging and greeting old friends as they all paired up to work certain stations together. It was a successful and glorious day, and the impact we made will resonate for a long time to come.

Gobble, Giggles and Good Times - Janeen B

Kicking off the Subaru Share the Love event! We are beyond excited to partner with our friends at The Raleigh County Commission on Aging, one of our hometown charities, and to celebrate in the most heartwarming way. Our amazing team at Friendship Subaru, along with the many volunteers, helped the kitchen staff and drivers create a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner. We shared a delicious meal, enjoyed some live music, and had fun with raffles and prizes! And here's the exciting part we shared while we had presenters there: for every New Subaru sold between November, 20 and January,2 2026, Subaru and Friendship will donate a portion of the proceeds to this cause. It's all part of our Share the Love event, making a positive impact together. We had over 150 people there, for those who could not join in person, we made sure to deliver meals right to their doors. It truly felt like one big family gathering, and we are grateful for the warm welcome and the strong bonds that we have built. With sincere appreciation to everyone who came out and joined us to make this event so special. Here at Friendship Subaru, we are proud to support and appreciate our community!

Halloween Hoot! - Janeen B

This Halloween, Friendship Subaru of Beckley transformed into a festive wonderland in partnership with a few local vendors and our friends from our local 103CIR radio station. Their broadcast brought excitement and created a need to stop by, our Trunk or Treat brought over 200 excited kids and their families for a Spooktacular evening. As the sun set, trunks lined up with creative and spooky decorations, offering treats, tricks and smiles. We had a few employees that decided to dress up in costume, set up and decorate their trunks and handed out some homemade treats. Our Friendship Subaru detail staff painted and put together a Punch a Pumpkin game with prizes as well as working the game themselves. Everyone seemed to be having the greatest time while moving from game to game, snacking and listening to the Halloween music playing. We had one specific trunk that stuck out a little more than the others, it was called Pick or Treat. The kids either chose to put their hand up the nose and Pick a treat or the nose would shoot in out at them. This worked out great with the adults and the kids absolutely loved the concept and thought it was the funniest thing ever! The event concluded with a thrilling Halloween Costume Contest with first, second and third place prizes that had everyone cheering. We also had other drawings for Bikes, Gift Cards and an Xbox, adding an extra layer of fun. And for those who needed a little extra energy, we had cotton candy being made and handed out and a kids bouncy jump house to help keep the kids entertained. A night was filled with laughter, community spirit, family, and a touch of Halloween magic. Making it a memorable celebration for everyone involved!

Subaru loves Pets - Janeen B

In the heart of October, Friendship Subaru of Beckley joined hands with The Humane Society of Raleigh County for a heartwarming Adopt A Pet Event! With collaboration of our local friends at ( 99.5 The Big Dawg) radio station doing a Live Broadcast and giving a platform for our General Manager Steven Smith to answer questions about the Subaru Loves Pets initiative and delivering what our end goal was and what Subaru has been striving for, made for a fabulous and energetic broadcast. Our radio friends who know us personally and have a great working relationship with us makes it fun and easy while still getting our very important messages out there. Our friendly banter, and getting some radio air time was key, as well as speaking with the Director of the Humane Society, Melodie Davis had the community buzzing with excitement, we were able to get the all our pets that were here all adopted! Our Event was designed to make adopting a furry friend as easy and joyful as possible. All adoption fees for the entire month of October were generously covered by Friendship Subaru, ensuring that every pet found a loving home without financial barriers. To celebrate their adoptions we gave a complimentary Dog or Cat Parent box provided by Subaru, filled with essentials like, Tote bags, leashes, collars, brushes, waste bags, scratch pads and of course toys! As visitors arrived, they were greeted with smiles, offered refreshments and if they adopted they had their photo taken with their new adopted pet and given everything needed to welcome their new furry family member. This event not only helped countless pets find loving homes but also strengthened the bond between the community, local businesses, and animal lovers. It was a celebration of compassion and community spirit.

Clean Sweep - Janeen B

In the Heart of Beckley, In our own neighborhood, a few team members from Friendship Subaru had noticed something that stood out: a major stretch of road littered with so much debris and trash. It had never before been like this, as a few of us travel that route many times a day, and as they got to work and were engaged in conversation one decided to reach out. Determined to take action and make a difference, a few of our crew contacted our local Councilwoman At Large, Sherrie Hunter, who is also the Director of the Recycling Center and the Raleigh County SW Authority. She invited them over, gave them Vests, Grabbers, Bags and the contact for the Public Works of Raleigh County to pick up the bags from the neighborhood clean-up. With enthusiasm and teamwork they had filled over 8 bags for this small stretch of road. WOW what a difference! They literally swept through the area, leaving it a lot cleaner and greener. It was just a small act, but it made a BIG difference and it showcased their commitment to their community. This is what pride in your Home is all about, if we don't step up and help out what's to say the next generation will. It's about teaching and passing down the sense of ownership and to take the initiative to get things done, don't sit and wait for someone else to do it. Get out there, make a difference and get involved, it is not going to clean itself. By doing this we are encouraging our young adults what they should be doing and handing them the reigns. Teach them to take initiative, and how and who to contact, for this will be theirs to care for in the near future. Let's hope we leave a legacy to be proud of.

Adopt A+ Classroom - Janeen B

What a partnership, Friendship Subaru of Beckley and Stanaford Elementary School came together to celebrate Subaru Loves Learning and for us to Adopt A Classroom for this 2025/2026 school year. We have an amazing relationship with all the teachers and staff, they are our friends, neighbors and our customers. Mrs. McDaniel, the principal of the school has been a great Learning partner and very accommodating with schedules, students, pictures and all other requirements. We go and offer our assistance when needed, she even offers to come and do things for Friendship Subaru on occasion. We joke with friendly banter and a we have a great time with the children, they seem to really enjoy when we come by for any kind of learning moments. The children truly enjoy helping, planting trees, handing out books, cleaning out flower beds, pots and re-planting ( they especially like playing around in the soil) landscaping and truly feeling like they made a difference. This year they decided to pull up the bushes along the front entrance and create a community Rock Garden for the kids, inspired by the book Only One You by Linda Krantz. Each student got to create their own personal rock to show their individuality and to get their creative juices flowing. Everyday walking in it fills them with pride knowing they were a part of it. The teachers and their the teaching assistants are always humble and extremely grateful for the individual Adopt A Classroom boxes and certificates, makes them feel great! Boxes filled with their own supplies, the Yearbook with all those notes of Encouragement and the acknowledgement of the never-ending job truly makes a difference. Teachers are very grateful for the lunches and snacks brought by our crew here at Friendship Subaru, but mostly grateful for our partnership! Our teachers make up a huge part of Subaru's on the road today, so we are forever grateful.

Ripple Effect - Janeen B

A community's Journey to Clean Water, Friendship Subaru of Beckley partners with the Piney Creek Watershed Association to safeguard the community's water sources. This partnership is focused on Preserving, Protecting and Promoting the Watershed that serves as a vital resource for the area. Monthly stream monitoring was initiated a few years ago, and they consistently monitor 27 sites, usually 3 teams with 3-4 volunteers record pH, conductivity, suspended soils, temperature and visual attributes of each site. Water samples are collected and returned to the lab to determine levels of bacterial contamination. Out team visited over 10 sites and had over 20 water samples collected. The Watershed also partners with WVU Tech, their faculty and students often are the ones doing the water testing. Their efforts include managing wetlands, reducing sedimentation and stocking trout. This partnership is more than just environmental, it's about building a sense of community. The Piney Creek Watershed Assoc. also educates the public on sustainable practices, using rain barrels and other projects to lessen the broader impact. With a deep passion for clean water, Janeen Bailey at Friendship Subaru of Beckley with Zebetta Eland and Thomas Lemke of the Piney Creek Watershed Association are making a lasting difference, one creek at a time.

Subaru Loves to Care - Janeen B

As we do every year, the Team at Friendship Subaru of Beckley and the Team at CAMC Cancer Center, come together to spread warmth and comfort to the patients in our area undergoing cancer treatment. As part of Subaru Loves to Care initiative, Our General Manager, our Service Manager and a few other team members along with Nathan Parks and the staff at CAMC help distribute our Subaru Fleece blankets, all with individual Messages of Hope and a simple letter from Subaru themself. These gifts were not just objects, but symbols of hope and love for the patients and their families. On the day of our event, Friendship Subaru volunteers arrived at the Cancer Center carrying boxes and boxes of Subaru blankets and a basket full of heartfelt messages written full of compassion and admiration. They carefully handed out blankets to the patients receiving treatment, offering its cozy embrace during their challenging times. We spoke with a few, listened to their stories and some of their struggles . Others were very grateful for some conversation while they were receiving treatment. It can be a long process and it takes a few hours of staying connected to the IV's. While others were letting us know that they were longtime Subaru owners and proud to be part of that Brand that truly engages with our hometown community. We also made a few friends along the way. Tree Extravaganza - Janeen B

This year, Friendship Subaru of Beckley was thrilled to partner with The Arbor Day Foundation as part of our Subaru Loves the Earth initiative. We received over 100 beautiful trees to give to our valued customers. Through a special email selection, customers were randomly chosen to reserve their tree. They had their choice of 5 different types indigenous to this area, wee had beautiful Tulip Poplars, Red Buds, Serviceberry, Black Tulipa and River Birch. Recipients picked their tree of choice and the order was sent. When the trees arrived in early April, they were divided into species, watered and taken care of well into having their first buds and blooms. As the reservations came in they were tagged with "Reserved For" signs just waiting for their pick up date. We actually had to stop the reservations due to the amount of service customers that had requested them here while in person. We decided to have a full blown Tree Extravaganza here the weekend of April 20th. Customers came in with their email to scan, in picking them up most allowed us to take a nice picture of them with their Tree. Customers loved this interaction as well as the generosity of The Arbor Day Foundation and Friendship Subaru. This was an amazing event, and celebrating our commitment to the environment and giving back to our community. Thank you to everyone that participated and helped make it all a HUGE success. Together, we continue to make a positive impact on our Planet.

School Clean up - Janeen B

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our friends and partners at Stanaford Elementary School, our Subaru loves the Earth volunteers recently finished a project started last month. With end of the year testing, award ceremonies and other events that took place we were finally able to lend a hand to beautify their school for the upcoming 5th Grade Graduation. We took part in clean-up, removal of bushes, added much needed flowers to pots and added some mulch to top off their landscaping extravaganza. It was a rewarding experience to work alongside our friends and help to make a positive impact on school community. We know these teachers and staff personally, our children have gone through there, some of their husbands work here and it's nice for a corporation to give back when possible. The staff was so humble and extremely grateful to have the help as well as getting an outside view of how it should look.

The staff there is bar-none, they care, they listen to their stories and offer outside assistance sometimes. Families are not always present and the reality of some of the situations is heartbreaking and yet still they don't waver. All are welcome to the community center if they like, where they find others like them as well as resources to could help improve their circumstances. Others are there to create relationships with other residents in the community and to just find a friendly companion. We appreciate their services and are glad to be a big supporter of this.

Subaru Loves to Help - Janeen B

At Friendship Subaru, we believe in making a difference in the lives of those around us. Through our Subaru Loves to Help initiative, we are dedicated to giving back to the community, providing support, and spreading kindness wherever it is needed most. This year, in partnership with The Family Resource Network and Operation Warm, we are proud to donate over 200 pairs of socks and shoes to local families and children in need. We understand that something as simple as a warm pair of socks or a well-fitting pair of shoes can make a world of differencehelping kids stay comfortable, confident, and ready to take on the day. Our commitment goes beyond just donations. Friendship Subaru team members have come together to personally distribute these essential items, ensuring that every child receives not just footwear, but also warmth, care, and encouragement. By working alongside local organizations and volunteers, we strive to create a positive impact that strengthens our community. The smiles on their faces are worth it! At Friendship Subaru, we are more than just a car companywe are a company that cares. Through Subaru Loves to Help, we will continue to support families, uplift those in need, and drive meaningful change. Thank you to Operation Warm and everyone involved in this incredible effort. Together, we can make a lasting differenceone pair of shoes, one pair of socks, and one act of kindness at a time.
