THANK YOU FROM LLS, FRIENDSHIP SUBARU OF BECKLEY! - Tasha M
For the past 10 years, Subaru of America and its retailers have partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. The partnership has involved delivering blankets and messages of hope to cancer patients across the country. On June 26th, Friendship Subaru of Beckley personally delivered these items to patients. These blankets and messages of hope provide warmth and comfort to patients in treatment. The love and support shared through this cherished partnership means a lot to everyone involved! This year, Friendship Subaru of Beckley also opted to support the LLS Urgent Need Program, which will provide blood cancer patients with financial relief to help offset non-medical costs associated with treatment, such as transportation, food, housing, utilities, etc. Thank you for your commitment to supporting your community as well as the LLS mission to create a world without blood cancer and improve the quality of life for patients and their families!

Subaru Loves to Care - Janeen B
As we do every year, the Team at Friendship Subaru of Beckley and the Team at CAMC Cancer Center, come together to spread warmth and comfort to the patients in our area undergoing cancer treatment. As part of Subaru Loves to Care initiative, Our General Manager, our Service Manager and a few other team members along with Nathan Parks and the staff at CAMC help distribute our Subaru Fleece blankets, all with individual Messages of Hope and a simple letter from Subaru themself. These gifts were not just objects, but symbols of hope and love for the patients and their families. On the day of our event, Friendship Subaru volunteers arrived at the Cancer Center carrying boxes and boxes of Subaru blankets and a basket full of heartfelt messages written full of compassion and admiration. They carefully handed out blankets to the patients receiving treatment, offering its cozy embrace during their challenging times. We spoke with a few, listened to their stories and some of their struggles . Others were very grateful for some conversation while they were receiving treatment. It can be a long process and it takes a few hours of staying connected to the IV's. While others were letting us know that they were longtime Subaru owners and proud to be part of that Brand that truly engages with our hometown community. We also made a few friends along the way. Seeing the joy and relief in the eyes of some of the patients was a reminder of the impact of community care. It was more than just a donation; it was a heartfelt gesture that brought people together, creating a ripple effect of kindness and support throughout the community. The event was a beautiful testament to the spirit of Subaru Loves to Care, showing that even small actions can make a big difference in the lives of those who need it most.

A Heartfelt Community Effort: Friendship Subaru of Beckley and the Veterans Table In a beautiful display of community spirit, Friendship Subaru of Beckley teamed up with the Mountaineer Food Bank and the Veterans Table to support local veterans. The event was a heartwarming blend of generosity and teamwork and friendships made along the way. There are many other local businesses besides Friendship Subaru that volunteer to come out on a weekly basis. We had PNC bank represented from 4 different locations , as well as the Day Center from Beckley. When the team gets together we are all familiar with the process and how to go about getting everything set up to be as fluent as possible. We laugh, We joke and We help each other, It's a Team effort. The Mountaineer Food Bank truck delivers the food our local farmers generously donate. Farm fresh locally grown vegetables and fruits, ensuring the veterans received the freshest produce. Beef from local farms has also been provided, adding a hearty touch to the donations. To make it even more special, local hunters, who used nearby certified processing stations, donate their meat, ensuring a diverse and nutritious selection. it is packaged accordingly and all are aware of the contents. On the day of the event, Friendship Subarus team helped to set up a vibrant and organized distribution area. Our truck driver unloads pallets and pallets filled with these goods for us to separate and organize. Volunteers carefully set up tables, and lined out perimeters ensuring that every veteran received a well-rounded package from each station. In addition to the perishables, they also included essential pet food for their furry companions, all donated by PetSmart. As veterans arrived and then eventually started driving through, they were greeted with warmth and gratitude. We load it for them, Thank them for all they've done, smile and wave as they leave. Tree Extravaganza - Janeen B
This year, Friendship Subaru of Beckley was thrilled to partner with The Arbor Day Foundation as part of our Subaru Loves the Earth initiative. We received over 100 beautiful trees to give to our valued customers. Through a special email selection, customers were randomly chosen to reserve their tree. They had their choice of 5 different types indigenous to this area, wee had beautiful Tulip Poplars, Red Buds, Serviceberry, Black Tulipa and River Birch. Recipients picked their tree of choice and the order was sent. When the trees arrived in early April, they were divided into species, watered and taken care of well into having their first buds and blooms. As the reservations came in they were tagged with "Reserved For" signs just waiting for their pick up date. We actually had to stop the reservations due to the amount of service customers that had requested them here while in person. We decided to have a full blown Tree Extravaganza here the weekend of April 20th. Customers came in with their email to scan, in picking them up most allowed us to take a nice picture of them with their Tree. Customers loved this interaction as well as the generosity of The Arbor Day Foundation and Friendship Subaru. This was an amazing event, and celebrating our commitment to the environment and giving back to our community. Thank you to everyone that participated and helped make it all a HUGE success. Together, we continue to make a positive impact on our Planet.

School Clean up - Janeen B
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our friends and partners at Stanaford Elementary School, our Subaru loves the Earth volunteers recently finished a project started last month. With end of the year testing, award ceremonies and other events that took place we were finally able to lend a hand to beautify their school for the upcoming 5th Grade Graduation. We took part in clean-up, removal of bushes, added much needed flowers to pots and added some mulch to top off their landscaping extravaganza. It was a rewarding experience to work alongside our friends and help to make a positive impact on school community. We know these teachers and staff personally, our children have gone through there, some of their husbands work here and it's nice for a corporation to give back when possible. The staff was so humble and extremely grateful to have the help as well as getting an outside view of how it should look.
